This interactive course will provide an in-depth review of the updated Fact Sheet, Dosage Considerations: Recommending School-based Physical Therapy Interventions under IDEA. The course will define common dosing terms, review available research, currently available tools related to dosing school-based physical therapy and review the DoSES model as a framework. Best practices in school-based service delivery, as well as, common and alternative service delivery models, will be explored. Through interactive small group discussions, participants will engage in decision-making and discuss elements to consider when recommending a school-based physical therapy dosage. The session will conclude with a large group examination of the cases and include opportunities for audience feedback followed by a question-and-answer session. The content is suitable for Physical Therapists at various stages of their professional development.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the learner will develop school-based dosing recommendations using the DoSES Model to support clinical reasoning.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will describe common and alternative service delivery models for school-based services.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will analyze the key influencing factors commonly used by school-based physical therapists when making dosing recommendations.
