The Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy Student Boot Camp is designed for students interested in a career in pediatrics. The session will cover a variety of topics such as: how to get involved with APTA Pediatrics as a student, organization of the Academy and leadership opportunities, how to select a practice setting post-graduation, pathways to clinical specialization, options for student loan repayment and ways loan debt can be consolidated, how to create and format a cover letter and resume, and general interview skills for a student applying for their first professional career. In this session, students will learn valuable skills necessary to succeed in finding and selecting and interviewing for their first job. Students will hear from three new professional speakers with a variety of first-hand pediatric pre- and post-graduate experience.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the learner will demonstrate understanding of the structure of the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy and opportunities to become involved.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be knowledgeable of the pros and cons of various types of pediatric physical therapy settings.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will describe various ways to consolidate student loan debt and options for repayment.
